Ovulation Calculator

Estimate your likely ovulation day and fertile window from your last period and cycle length.

Enter the first day of your last period to estimate your fertile window.

How to use the ovulation calculator

Enter the first day of your last period, then your usual cycle length in days. The tool estimates the day you are likely to ovulate, the fertile window around it, and when your next period is expected.

If you are not sure of your cycle length, the average is about 28 days. Many people fall between 21 and 35 days, and your own length can shift from month to month.

How the estimate is worked out

The calculator uses the calendar method. It counts cycle day one as the first day of your last period. Ovulation is estimated about 14 days before your next period, so it lands near cycle length minus 14.

For a 28-day cycle, that puts ovulation around cycle day 14, with a fertile window covering roughly days 10 through 15. The window spans the few days before ovulation through the day after, when conception is most likely.

Why cycles vary and what this cannot do

Real cycles are not fixed. Stress, sleep, illness, and many other factors can move ovulation earlier or later than the calendar suggests. So treat every date here as an estimate, not a certainty.

This tool cannot confirm ovulation and it cannot prevent pregnancy. It is not a contraceptive method. If you want to avoid pregnancy, use a proven birth control method and speak with a clinician. For any concern about your cycle or fertility, see a doctor.

Frequently asked questions

How does the ovulation calculator work?
It uses the calendar method. Counting from the first day of your last period, it places ovulation about 14 days before your next period and marks a fertile window of a few days around that point.
Can I use this as birth control?
No. This calculator is an estimate, not a contraceptive method. It cannot reliably tell you which days are safe. To avoid pregnancy, use a proven birth control method and talk with a clinician.
How accurate are these dates?
They are a rough guide based on an average cycle. Real ovulation can shift with stress, sleep, illness, and other factors, so the true day may differ from the estimate by several days.
What is the fertile window?
It is the span of days when conception is most likely, covering the few days before ovulation through the day after. The calculator marks this window around the estimated ovulation day.
Should I see a doctor about my cycle?
If you have concerns about your cycle, fertility, or any symptom, speak with a doctor or qualified clinician. This tool gives general information and is not a medical diagnosis.
